When decorated Army medic and single mother Maggie Swann (Michelle Monaghan) returns home from an extended tour in Afghanistan she attempts to reconcile her duties as a mother and her obligations as a soldier. Struggling to reclaim the affection of her 5 year-old son she attempts to build a solid foundation on which to re-establish ties to her past, but when she receives news of an impending deployment it threatens the very balance of her already fragile family life. Dramatic war theme of American soldiers of the present day, good and proper. Only with the difference that instead of a man, there’s a female soldier. There’s nothing that extraordinary about the movie, nor anything that good, really. It’s mostly one big boredom fest and the one single minute of action shots simply can’t save that.
