The Kelly brothers Andy (Myles Pollard) and Jimmy (Xavier Samuel) have one great passion: riding big waves. Growing up in the sleepy coastal town of Margaret River, with some of the world's most challenging and dangerous waves, they perfected their surfing skills, always searching for the perfect ride. Out of necessity, the brothers launch a backyard surf business; re-thinking board design, crafting homemade wetsuits and selling their new surf gear out of their van. Encouraged by their new friends, travelling bohemian surf photographer JB (Sam Worthington) and gorgeous Hawaiian surfer, Lani, who stirs the two brothers' hearts, they start to seek ways to expand. Battling killer waves, small town conservatism and local criminals, the brothers persevere, daring to dream of a world where they can surf to live and live to surf. Set in breathtaking locations and inspired by the true story of Australia's legendary surf wear entrepreneurs. Drift is a story of passion, friendship and fractured loyalties and tells a tale of courage and the will to survive against all odds. (Entertainment One)

English Sam Worthington is obviously such a star that even with long hair and a beard, he could save me in a cheesy surfing movie. The guys have it tough because they come from a pretty normal family, but all they really want to do is surf, which is a big problem on the Australian coast because there are waves everywhere. However, there are some guys who are causing them trouble in their neighborhood. But that's okay because then the right wave comes and everything turns out fine. That's really cool... ()

English I like movies with surfing in the leading role. I like the ease of this sport and the freedom, when wave after wave closes behind the surfer and so I liked those shots even in this movie. What was worse was that the movie is nothing original. The acting performances were standard. Every man there has long hair, drug problem and tries to be happy with what they do. How do you think a film like this will end? If not for the beautiful shots of waves, I would had rated it even lower. ()
