Black Marigolds (2013)
It's not a great film. It's quite dead in places and it's quite lengthy in parts despite its runtime, and yet it also manages to create the atmosphere you expect. Insecurity, fear, anger. In the end the filmmakers of Black Marigolds probably succeeded in what they wanted to convey, but the whole thing was average at best.
The Cloverfield Paradox (2018)
The Cloverfield Paradox is not a bad film, but it can leave a certain bitter taste of disappointment, ambiguity, non-fulfillment, or a certain emptiness that comes after the end. Given the cast in the film and what Netflix has been coming up with lately, I found this a little lazy and that it definitely does not live up to the potential that Cloverfield has. It's still decently average, though.
Beyond a Reasonable Doubt (1956)
It's definitely not the best Fritz Lang you'll ever see, but it is clear that the filmmaker had a firm grip on the film and managed to keep the viewer a little tense until the end. However, the script isn't as strong as it needs to be and it's only halfway there to something truly exceptional. Even so, Lang's film will not offend you.
Believe in Me (2006)
At first glance this is a fairly ordinary film about how one man is put in charge of a group of outsiders, in this case a team of basketball players, and doesn't want to do much with them. However, it turns out that they can achieve something if they work together. Even though it looks ordinary, I have to admit that I enjoyed the characters.
Before We Vanish (2017)
This film almost begs to be a special effects spectacle, but the Japanese filmmakers had a lot of surprises in store this time, as this is a film that ultimately played on relative realism, with more psychology and the human factor coming into the plot. Or what an alien attempt to take over the Earth might look like.
When Jack Went Glamping (2017)
David Arquette is an actor I simply love, mainly due to Ready to Rumble, which is a dumb movie that probably no one thinks is great, but I loved it. A lot of time has passed since then, though, and Amanda & Jack Go Glamping was definitely not as entertaining or funny, and it was way too predictable.
Nightmare (1981)
Nightmare is a beautifully bad delicacy for horror enthusiasts, for those who like slasher films and don't mind that sometimes the films aren't downright unique, but they have something in them that makes them worth watching. In my opinion, that's what Nightmare has. It probably won't appeal to a wider audience, but those who like slasher films will find something to like here.
Atlantic Rim 2 (2018)
This isn't a subject you want to watch in mostly interior shots, and when it comes to the exteriors, it's awfully desolate. You want to see a lot of monsters and robots and watch them fight. This is so boring, and the only thing that breaks the monotony is how stupid it is, although I actually had a good laugh in places because it's pretty idiotic.
Along for the Ride (2016)
Dennis Hopper was certainly an interesting artistic personality because it cannot be said that he was simply an actor. While the documentary comes across as a bit too adoring in places, it certainly doesn't detract from the personality being described. Moreover, the documentary is not afraid to delve into Hopper's more complicated periods.
Sam Was Here (2016)
I found the lack of plot to be quite crucial in Sam Was Here because this is a film that needs to have a strong plot. The story has a great beginning, but unfortunately, it failed to turn into a really good film. Sam Was Here gets about halfway there and loses steam by the end, failing to pull you in with its strangeness.
