The Polish nurse Wanda takes around-the-clock care of the 70-year-old Josef, the patriarch of the wealthy Wegmeister Gloor dynasty. The 35-year-old’s bright personality brings light into the life of the pensioner, who was paralysed by a stroke. But not all members of the family show the same goodwill towards Wanda: While Josef's wife, Elsa, dislikes the friendship between her husband and his employee, daughter Sofie suspects the nurse of theft. When Wanda becomes pregnant after she does Josef a “favour”, the villa is thrown into chaos. Bettina Oberli has created a tragicomedy that takes a critical look at Swiss society through the eyes of an immigrant woman. High level entertainment from a powerful ensemble. (Zurich Film Festival)
