Vitality

This film is set in the background of three natural disasters and consists of three character’s stories: a singer Qin Chuan who loses his fiancee, a thief Wu Sheng who wants to be a policeman, and an ‘idiot’ Da Zhi who is aware of everything in his mind. The film begins with a tape that Qin Chuan’s fiancee Guanshan had left for him before she passed away, which causes two homicide cases, things in the past, and transition on each character’s life. Facing huge natural disasters, ordinary people sacrificing their lives in different ways to follow their faith of helping others, but how theirs relatives go through with the loss of them. Affection, friendship, and kinship changed the main characters’ fates, thus the beauty and the goodness being expressed in such a story. (Orlando Film Festival)
