Anne, no longer able to ignore the breakdown of her relationship, takes refuge at her parents' home in the country where she realizes that they still consider her a child. Anne persuades her mother to go and stay with her sister, who is just about to give birth, and, now alone with her father, discovers that he has a mistress.
