Battle of Banaras

Inspired by Nobel laureate Elias Canetti's book, Crowds and Power, the documentary captures the excitement, the madness and the noise generated during the high-octane election battle in the holy city of Banaras, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's parliamentary constituency. And in the proces lays bare the politics of "the world's biggest democracy". Shot in over a 44-day schedule in Banaras, the documentary interweaves Indian history with contemporary politics.
