Patricia Riggen directs this drama based on the memoir of Christy Beam. Jennifer Garner stars as Christy, a woman whose young daughter Anna (Kylie Rogers) has been diagnosed with a rare digestive disease for which there is no cure. English You can sit through anything, but I sure did not expect a movie this pushy. It could have been a nice family drama with a happy ending in the style of then Hallmark TV. Actually, there is a huge spoiler in the title. Nevertheless, I held my own through the entire film. For instance, everybody should like wacky Queen Latifah in this one. But the encounter with God at the end of the movie got me to my knees so hard that I could no longer follow what’s happening in the film. ()

English I simply don't enjoy similar nonsense. Sure, something strange might have happened that we can't explain because we don't have the capacity and knowledge to do so yet, but to immediately invoke God is just posturing. Plus, the characters are incredibly boring and predictable, as if every American family is caring, beautiful, and loving. Kitsch, and religious gibberish at that. ()
