English A very pleasant genre film that nicely entertains where others would pretend to be a scathing satire or push the envelope of roughness and bloodiness. It starts as if the Coen brothers were shooting the Falling Down, then turns somewhere else, and then somewhere else by the end, but I don’t want to spoil it. In any case, it’s very easy get on the wave the film is riding, perhaps actually thanks to the fact that it doesn’t pretend to be anything “important”. And because the characters, a deprived chubby girl and a weird hobbit, are likeable without having to look like something out of the cover of a lifestyle magazine. ()

English Quite entertaining and wacky. Actually not a bad piece reminiscent of the Coen brothers at their best and craziest. And I must say that it’s great when someone makes a film following in their footsteps, which also manages to be fun. Melanie Lynskey and Elijah Wood are an entertaining duo of nutjobs, and a good fit for an equally crazy story. You won’t need to watch it more than once, but you will have a good time. ()

English An enjoyable new flick with a Coen touch and Elijah Wood in another weird role. I'm glad to see that Elijah Wood from Lord of the Rings is true to the horror/thriller genre, these roles really suit him. The film is almost sarcastically funny from the start and is full of dark humour, which is definitely a treat. Although the detective plot is fairly simple, the film is full of unexpected surprises and manages to shock nicely at times. In the end, the film almost becomes a slasher and kicks off a properly brutal spectacle that is powerfully intense and rightly apt to the previous innocent hour. Great relaxing entertainment that manages to surprise and delight. Story 7/10, Atmosphere 6/10, Gore 6/10, Visuals 7/10, Action 6/10, Suspense 3/10, Humour 7/10. Entertainment 7/10, Scares 0/10.75% ()

English Melanie Lynskey and Elijah Wood form a brilliantly quirky duo, and the film stands on their performances, even though it relies on peculiar characters and the twists that occur. Even though it starts off as a fairly ordinary depressing movie, it takes a bizarrely criminal turn. The grittiness is quite surprising in places. ()
