Inspired by his love of 70s crime-thrillers and a 1974 Dodge Dart Custom, the 16 year-old filmmaker debuts with Stray Bullets – a gritty portrait of a day in the life of 2 adolescents whose chance encounter with the dangerous pasts of others will forever change their lives. Set in a small town in upstate New York, two teenage boys set off on yet another uneventful day. Tasked with cleaning out their father's old mobile home on an abandoned property, Ash and Conner (played by Jack Fessenden) are in no hurry. A little detour to dick around in the nearby fields with the new arrival of a covertly acquired paintball-gun offers welcome respite from their colorless days. But the rounds of bright red paintball pellets shot off during their sporting spree soon take on a different hue. Upon arriving at the trailer, they discover 3 crooks have taken refuge – and the blood in the back of their getaway car is real. Alongside veteran actors James Le Gros and Kevin Corrigan, Jack's father, iconic New York underground filmmaker, Larry Fessenden, co-stars, produces, and is cinematographer in this first offering from a powerful young voice. A meditation on gun culture and friendship from a teenage director. (Internationales Filmfest Oldenburg)
