Spanning several generations, this blood-soaked entry in Clive Barker's horror tour de force acts both as prequel and sequel to the original Hellraiser films. Determined to close the gates of hell once and for all, a 22nd-century scientist, whose ancestor freed the demonic Pinhead centuries before, tries to reverse the Lament if Configuration! This blood-curdling epic spans three eras and 400 years, from the 18th-century Parisian origins of the Lament Configuration box (which proves to be a doorway to Hell) to modern times, and finally to the year 2127 and a gigantic spaceship where the forces of good must again triumph over evil! English Wow! This is a screenwriting monstrosity of biblical proportions. The special effects are good, but can’t save the plot. The film has no atmosphere whatsoever, Pinhead is not very impressive, either. Utter dud, really. The story takes place on three timelines and I can’t decide which is the worst, they all felt equally bad. Very weak two stars and only because I’m in an amicable mood right now. My ranking: H1, H5, H2, H7, H3, H4, H6, H8 ()

English This is the first installment in the Hellraiser series that I liked. Let's leave aside the cheerful framing in the future, which in and of itself brings a logical end to the whole concept, but the historical storyline together with the present one is exactly what I expected from the series. The Cenobite Angelique is my favorite, the twins are fine, and in general, the whole thing is so pleasantly reminiscent of Adrian Doyle's "Vampira." What do you all have against that? The Cenobite JP is going to get you. I've grown tired of all the skinning and chains. But it's also a fact that Jason X has scared a lot of us. This is the order in which I like the films overall: Hellraiser 8, Hellraiser 5, Hellraiser 4, Hellraiser 7, Hellraiser 2, Hellraiser 6, Hellraiser 1, Hellraiser 3, Hellraiser 9. ()

English "Hellraiser: The Hell Rider," which by the way is another strange Czech title - "Bloodline" would sound better and capture the essence of the film - is a very bad piece within the entire series, but considering how many parts there are already, I'm almost certain there will be even worse pieces. However, this one is incredibly cluttered and actually without a plot, where nothing really happens, that you will still fondly remember the first film. ()
