Nicolas Cage delivers a blistering, unforgettable performance as Evan Lake, a desk-bound Langley CIA agent forced into retirement by signs of early onset Dementia. At the same time he discovers that his former tormentor, Jihadist Muhhamed Banir (Alexander Karim), is not dead as assumed for two decades but is alive and receiving experimental medical treatment. English Nicolas Cage’s movies have been really declining in quality. The emphasis put on his injured right ear was almost ridiculous. It’s clear that he no longer knows what kind of movies he should appear in, and that he’s taking way too many roles. The only good thing was that this movie didn’t have the three-hour running time the creators originally planned for, because otherwise I’d not have finished watching it. ()

English I simply like Nicolas Cage, and maybe that's precisely why he doesn't really care what he plays in. He chooses roles like on an assembly line and recently he regularly appears in B-movie productions. However, this political thriller is not bad at all and it works well as a B-movie production, thanks to Cage's acting, which is traditional but still enjoyable to me. Plus, he has another excellent look again. ()
