Dear White People is the story of an eclectic group of black students trying to navigate a predominantly white Ivy League school. Dealing with the college's traditions and cliques is hard enough. But after a sequence of events including a controversial student election, an out-of-control party, and the arrival of a reality TV producer, once-quiet Winchester University becomes a hotbed of conflict. This is a movie that has interesting scenes, but it didn't work for me as a whole. It's like I constantly had a feeling that it's actually black people who want to be different, not only in terms of skin color, but simply to distance themselves from white people. I wouldn't mind this, it's their thing, but what bothers me more is that these are such episodes that sit better with me individually. ()
