Chen Zhen is a young Chinese who finds himself in Inner Mongolia during the Cultural Revolution and gets acquainted with the nomadic way of life. The Mongolian prairie is symbolically governed by the wolf, who is not only the most dangerous enemy of man, but also his benefactor. It was the ageless struggle with the wolf threatening the herds of sheep and horses that made the man stronger. Chen Zhen is so enchanted with the local way of thinking that he decides to capture and train a wolf cub. (Febiofest)
