A master of daring rescues, Scorch pulls off astonishing feats with the quiet aid of his nerdy, by-the-rules brother, Gary (Rob Corddry), head of mission control at BASA. When BASA's no-nonsense chief Lena (Jessica Alba) informs the brothers of an SOS from a notoriously dangerous planet, Scorch rejects Gary's warnings and bounds off for yet another exciting mission. Inability to create something original in the field of animated films has been bothering me for quite a long time. I don't know if the genre is truly so depleted, but didn't we recently have "Planet 51"? It had the same plot, only that a human wanted to get off a foreign planet. Here, aliens are escaping from ours. Well, that's basically it. Will someone come up with something new again? Will "Pixar" take on this challenge again? They have some projects in the works, so we'll see.
