Plots(1)
Based on the play by Percy Mtwa, which was first produced as a three-character play at Lincoln Center in 1986. A year later it was staged at the Los Angeles Theater Center. Two television productions about the play appeared: one a documentary by the BBC and the other a docudrama by PBS. The PBS docudrama mixed actual footage of black-on-black violence with scenes from the play and featured narration by Sidney Poitier. Before the play's European premiere, it was taken to the townships of South Africa, where Mtwa was able to speak with audiences about their own experiences. (official distributor synopsis)
