Kate (Thandie Newton) and Martin (Cillian Murphy) escape London for an idyllic cottage on the remote Blackholme Island, off the west coast of Scotland, in the hope of recovering from a personal tragedy. A very decent film in all aspects, but too safe and dry for my taste. I had a similar feeling recently with Snowtown, for instance. Very high quality filmmaking, but deep down you long for Kameňák to at least laugh, lol.
