After Shock

On what was otherwise a still, calm day in 1976 in Tangshan, China the countryside was ripped apart by a devastating earthquake that would take the lives of over 240,000 people. At the heart of the monstrous disaster a mother must make a heartbreaking decision to save only one of her two children, but when the abandoned child Fang Deng (Jingchu Zhang) miraculously survives she must find a way to rebuild her life alone, far away from Tangshan. Over the next 30 years Tangshan and Fang Deng slowly recover from the tragedy but when another enormous earthquake devastates the area, Fang Deng returns home to face the ruin and find her long lost family and the peace that comes with forgiveness.
