One morning in 1940, the entire population of Friar, New Hampshire walked north together up an unmarked trial and into the wilderness. They left behind their clothes, money, and essentials. Their dogs were tied to posts and left to starve. Many were later found frozen to death. Others were found slaughtered. But most were never found. In 2010, the coordinates for the 'YellowBrickRoad' trailhead were declassified. The first official expedition into the dark and twisted wilderness attempted to solve the mystery of the lost citizens of Friar.
