Teen comedy starring Emma Stone as Olive Penderghast, a perfect high school student whose reputation is put on the line. When Olive tells a white lie to her gay best friend, Brandon (Dan Byrd), about losing her virginity, events spiral out of her control. Olive begins to notice similarities between her life and that of Hester Prynne in Nathaniel Hawthorne's 'The Scarlet Letter', the book she is studying. When competitive student Marianne (Amanda Bynes) spreads rumours about Olive in order to further defame her character, Olive determines to make the best of the situation and use the rumours to her advantage. English TV fanatics, fast-talking beauties, free-thinking parents, and the goddess Emma Stone breaking through to the top league for sure. Perhaps the plot is slightly contrived, but amidst the denied clichés, perfect soundtrack, or easily believable serious moments, it is a clear praise. And hopefully, over time, even a smaller teenage classic. ()

English So once again we’ve been disappointed... this movie was everything... just not funny or romantic. The lead actress was pretty hot, but it all still felt kind of awkward and unfinished... or did I miss the point? Then she was too well hidden. ()

English A very likable, entertaining film - especially thanks to Emma Stone and her parents played by Stanley Tucci and Patricia Clarkson. Reasonable length, interesting plot, no big drama... It's a perfect film for relaxation, but the only thing it has in common with Juno (despite all the comparisons) is the treatment of the main character and the animation on the DVD menu. ()

English This comedy simply left nothing in me. I don't remember a single scene from it properly, which is quite bad. I knew I didn't like it from the moment I started watching it. It just seemed like another one among many, even though my favorite Emma Stone and a few other interesting actors are in it. Well, if there's nothing, then there's nothing. ()
