Professor John Koestler (Nicolas Cage) discovers that the time capsule his son's class uncovers contains a coded message that has predicted with pinpoint accuracy the dates, death toll and co-ordinates of every major disaster for the past 50 years. His increasingly desperate quest involves the reluctant help of Diana Wayland (Rose Byrne) as they embark on a heart-pounding race against time to work out what happens when the numbers run out.
