Winged Creatures

The early morning tranquillity of a diner is shattered when a lone gunman opens fire, killing innocent people and changing lives forever. The survivors include waitress Carla (Kate Beckinsale), a single mum struggling to cope; 13-year-old Anne (Dakota Fanning), who turns to God to explain the murder of her father; Dr Bruce Laraby (Guy Pearce) who suffers a loss of confidence with devastating implications; and Charlie Archenault and his daughter Kathy (Academy Award winners Forest Whitaker and Jennifer Hudson) must confront his compulsive gambling habit in order to repair their relationship.
