In this tale of madness, young medical student Hirosuke assumes the identity of a dead man in order to solve the mystery of a weird doppleganger whose obituary he spies in a newspaper. Traveling from circus sideshows to a cursed and isolated island, he discovers a web-fingered madman who surgically remakes normal human beings into misshapen monsters. But that is only the beginning, for Hirosuke has yet to learn the shocking truth about the island and his own family's shameful past. (official distributor synopsis)
