An energetic young policeman arrives in a wealthy village. In a matter of a few days he discloses the organised meat-theft conducted at the co-op slaughter-house. He assumes very early that Máté, the co-op chairman who possesses a Kossuth-Prize, is behind the driver. Böröczki reports him to the police for drunken driving. The still influential local lord, who in the meantime has been discharged and is now only an honorary chairman, promises Böröczki, courting his daughter, officers' education in vain. He is faithful to his principles and informs the police captain about the doings at the co-op. A complete due diligence is conducted, then Máté makes Böröczki drunk in revenge and drives him, the unpleasant champion of truth, into an accident. (official distributor synopsis)
