In the 12th Century, Mongolian warlord Temujin (John Wayne, The Searchers) is a man of action over words. A respected warrior, destined to be crowned the great leader Genghis Khan, he is haunted by the violent loss of his father and engages in heated battle against the rival tribe responsible for his death. But on the home front, life is equally complicated as Temujin’s interest is taken by red-haired Tartar prisoner Bortai (Susan Hayward, I Want to Live!). Captured in a raid she becomes both a welcome distraction and a bargaining chip for Temujin, who is forced to look deep into his heart for the first time in his life. (Umbrella Entertainment)

English If this is the film that cost John Wayne his health and gave him cancer, it's a great shame that it wasn't a better quality film. But the idea itself, that John would play a Mongolian warrior and conqueror, is just weird. It's not that bad, there are good fight scenes here, but it's too long and pretentiously grandiose film that doesn't really entertain much. ()
