Plots(1)
La Cucaracha features spicy food and passion in a story set in a Mexican cantina. Chatita is worried that a theatre director wants to lure her renowned star dancer away from her cafe cantante, so she does everything in her power to drive him out of the restaurant. When an overdose of Tabasco sauce does nothing more than bring a flush of anger to his cheeks, she launches into "La Cucaracha" to try to keep Pancho by her side ... Set in Mexico's red-light milieu, the film imbues folk dancing with erotic sparks. But the real star of this first live-action film to use the Technicolor three-colour process is the blue.
