Plots(1)
A Pair of Tights (1929) offers all the common gimmicks from face-hitting ice cream cones to jamming revolving doors and from goofy policemen to annoying little brats. Most intriguingly the main characters are a pair of female comedians: Anita Garvin (1907–1994) made a lengthy career as a comedienne, playing most notoriously wives of Laurel and Hardy, and Marion Byron (1911– 1985) who fought great battles on screen with the likes of Buster Keaton, Max Davidson, Edgar Kennedy and Charlie Chase. Alas, their teaming-up was short-lived. (Midnight Sun Film Festival)
