When disgraced American anthropologist and self-appointed sceptic Dempsey (Golden Globe® Award winner Ted Danson, Becker, Cheers) arrives for a new assignment in Scotland there is nothing to prepare him for the magical journey ahead of him. Hired to research the legend of the famed Loch Ness monster, his scientific quest becomes all the more grounded as he encounters the small town charm of the local people - including innkeeper Laura (Joely Richardson, Nip/Tuck), her young daughter Isabel (Kirsty Graham), the local water bailiff (Oscar® nominee Ian Holm, The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit) and research assistant Adrian Foote (James Frain, Grimm). English The creators should make it clear whether they wanted to make a mystery film about the Loch Ness creature, or a bland family drama stuck to the same old template. All in all, it might not have been that bad, but I found it rather embarrassing. Ian Holm may be a good actor, but it's not enough to raise my rating. In short, one of many other films that fizzles out of your head even faster than it might seem. ()
