Communicated priest Father Michael Rayner (Christopher Lee, Count Dracula) is a man hell-bent on revenge, seeking partnership with non-other than Satan, the Prince of Darkness. When Henry Beddows (Denholm Elliott, Raiders of the Lost Ark), a man fearful for his own soul, intervenes to save his daughter Catherine (Nastassja Kinski, Tess) from Rayner's control nothing prepares him for the evil and mayhem ahead. Desperate to stop Rayner and his dastardly ways, American occult novelist John Verney (Richard Widmark, The Alamo), aided by friends Anna Fountain (Honor Blackman,Goldfinger) and David (Anthony Valentine,Performance) take up the formidable fight, battling a flood tide of satanic rituals and devil worship, where it’s not just about staying alive – it’s about saving one’s soul.
