Buffon discovers the Past (E11)

Let’s remember: Galileo showed that the earth is rotating around the sun. Newton discovered the law of gravitation. And then there was an Irish bishop named James Ussher who claimed that he knew the exact birth date of our planet earth from his calculations with the bible… He said the earth exists since October 29, 4004 B.C. It was Georges Louis de Buffon, a French scientist, who demonstrated the foolishness of this calculation.
