A stroke is caused by the interruption of blood circulation in the brain, which may happen due to blood clots. A study of these clots, the first of its kind in the world, may bring a breakthrough in medicine. The documentary covers an international research effort in which scientists analyze thousands of blood clots that have caused strokes in people from across the world. The causes, as well as the possible effects on human health, are explained. The animated illustrations in the film show the viewer both the study as well as the stroke itself. Three survivors are given screen time along with the experts, recounting the different onset and effects stroke had in each of them, and the difficulty of recovery. (Academia Film Olomouc)
