Good Time

A psychedelic tale about how to manage a visit to Dinopark, almost bring a smile to an underage black girl’s face, bond with a strange dog, and do something good for the family in a few hours. Watching this hard-to-classify ride, which is probably closest in poetry to Refn or Noé, is in any case a blast. It's not as visually striking as Refn or Noé, but it has an exceptionally unique atmosphere. It's basically one big night trip in which damn near anything can happen. (24/02/2019)

A kinetic social thriller that feels burnt out from the first shot and isn’t helped much by the lobotomized twists, or even the likable but insensitively used 80s analogue hell soundtrack from Oneohtrix Point Never. Pattinson gives the best performance of his career - but let's face it, his character is so external that he doesn't have to do all that much work. (27/05/2017)

This movie is definitively one of the most interesting ones of 2017. The dynamic musical undertone takes turns with a rather alternative method of transferring the script to the film screen. Alternative in the sense that everything in the film is quite raw, sometimes even disgusting. And Robert Pattinson did a great job portraying a character who is drowning in a quagmire of this human depravity. His behavior just makes no sense at all. (28/12/2017)

A raw and pretty original insight into the life of a cunning thief. Pattinson enjoys his role of perverse scab with strange moral boundaries. His attempts at getting his disabled brother out of prison/hospital and the winding road leading to this goal serves only as a way of investigating the logic both of the main protagonist and of the lower classes of dirty New York. Great music, unbelievable pace. (03/11/2021)

This is an interesting film that some will be excited about in how different it is, others will be rather disgusted, and then there will be those, like me, who don't know what to think, if it's really that good or if it's actually a misstep that masquerades as good. But it's definitely a film that deserves more than one viewing. (28/02/2018)
