The film, taking place in Croatia in the 30s, depicts the choreography of the terror of anarchist regimes functioning on the principle of total distrust. The Ustasha take the leader of their nationalist organisation, the wanted Marko Lazar into a castle surrounded by a great park. He is surrounded by spies and counter-spies, later he is sacrificed for the Hungarian interests to keep the organisation alive. Over his corpse they make a vow: may his memory help them in the assassination of Alexander, Serb king. (official distributor synopsis)
