Hauling

Claudines earns a living by collecting and recycling trash. Each day he travels in his VW bus to the city centre of São Paulo where the shop and restaurant owners are only too pleased to hand over their refuse for Claudines to sort and sell to recycling companies. This film portrays the everyday life of Claudines and other “haulers” and clearly shows that Claudines’ profession is a respectable way of getting by in São Paulo. We also learn how Claudines has become the father of more than 27 children, many of them working with pride in his company. This large family now runs a very successful business.
