Vendula Bradáčová (b. 1976, Prague) started out in television as a host and reporter (TV Nova, TV Prima), and gradually worked her way into directing. She spent a year in the department of feature direction at Prague’s Film Academy (FAMU) but soon left her studies to have a child. She has been making documentaries for ten years, concentrating on humans and the work they do. Of the numerous commercials for foundations she has created, the clip for the civic association Barevný svět dětí, which is engaged in helping children in institutional care, took a Special Jury Prize at the 2008 Zlín IFF. Her directorial activities encompass a documentary series for Czech Television entitled “The Best Czech School” and a number of The Making of… – docs about the making of well-known Czech films. Fulmaya, the Girl with Skinny Legs is her feature-length documentary debut.
