Hugo Javier Payen

Biography

Native to Los Cabos, Hugo Javier Payen is a filmmaker and VFX specialist. He participated in short films such as El caso de Juan (2016), winner of the Ariel award, Javier Montes’ Flamboyanes (2019), winner of the best short film award at the Oaxaca Film Fest, and UNHEIMLICH, directed by Fabio Colonna. He studied Cinematography at the CAAV Guadalajara. He directed the short films Terrae (2017) and Byron (2018), which both premiered at the 70th and 71st Cannes Film Festival. He created the company Apix Films, through which he has created VFX visual effects, produced and directed feature films, music videos and advertising campaigns at a national and international level.
