Biography
As a director he has won several awards. Highlights are The Crocodile in 1986 for Subir al cielo, the Pitirre and the Ariel for Sin motivo aparente in 1988; in 1994 he was nominated in IDFA for De puro gusto that won the Gran Canarias; in 1996 the Coral for Planeta Siqueiros, which was nominated to the Ariel, that was awarded to him for La historia en la mirada (2011). He is currently head of the DIS, the University of Guadalajara’s prestigious cinema school.
