She graduated with a communication degree at the Universidad Iberoamericana, studied film at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, and took a television and documentary course at the BBC in London. She has held director positions at public institutions like the Mexican Television Institute, Channel 11, Channel 22, the Mexican Radio Institute and Cineteca Nacional. A screenwriter, producer and film and television director for 30 years, she has received the National Cultural Journalism Award (1992) and the Silver Microphone Award (2001).
