He took an animation course at the Centro Universitario de Medios Audiovisuales (CAAV) and began working as an animation assistant in short films. His first animated short received a grant from the Jalisco Consejo Estatal para la Cultura y las Artes (CECA). He completed Mutatio, an animated short in stop-motion animation, with the support of IMCINE.
