Anna Kazejak (b. 1979, Bytom, Poland) studied film direction at PWSFTviT in Łódź. She gained international recognition early on with her student shorts Pulse (doc, 2003) and You Are There (2004). Together with two college friends she debuted with the much lauded three-part feature Ode to Joy (2005). After its premiere at the Rotterdam IFF the film was screened at various international festivals (also competing in KVIFF's East of the West section). This was followed by the short A Few Simple Words (2007) and the mid-length documentary The Sidetrack (2009). Her first feature Flying Pigs (2010) was a huge box-office success in Poland. For HBO Poland she directed numerous episodes of the series "In Treatment" (2011–12).
