Biography

Andrzej Wajda (1926) is one of the leading film makers of Polish cinema. He studied painting in Cracow and graduated from a film school in Lodz. He's worked primarily on themes from Polish history in this rich portfolio of films. He made his debut with the drama A Generation (Pokolenie, 1955), and we will further mention the films Canals (Kanal, 1955), Everything for Sale (Wszystko na sprzedaz, 1969), The Promised Land (Ziemia obiecana,1975), Man of Iron (Czlowiek z zelaza, 1981), and Katyn (Katyn, 2007).
