Biography
Nigata, Japan, 1966. A Musashino Art University graduate, he took the big leap from advertising to cinema with two big hits, Shark Skin Man and Peach Hip Girl (1999) and Party 7 (2000). With The Taste of Tea he picked up the Orient Express Award at Sitges'04.
