Marton Csokas

Marton Csokas has enjoyed an exciting and eclectic career in movies, in television, and on stage, both at home in New Zealand and worldwide. His intensity, talent, dedication and range as an actor have made Csokas a favorite among both critics and moviegoers.

Csokas became well-known for his recurring role on the television series “Xena.” American audiences, as well as critics, took note of him as the villain Yorgi in the Vin Diesel adrenaline ride “xXx.” Csokas has also appeared in the high profile films “The Lord of the Rings,” “The Bourne Supremacy,” “Asylum,” “Kingdom of Heaven” and “The Great Raid.” In 2005, he co-starred with Charlize Theron in “Aeon Flux,” and in 2007 with Eric Bana in “Romulus, My Father,” for which he received a Best Supporting Actor award from the Australian Film Institute. His credits include Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland” and “Dream House”.

His theatre credits include “Peribanez,” “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf,” which garnered him a Sydney Theatre Awards nomination for Best Actor in 2007. Also in 2007, he costarred with Hugo Weaving in “Riflemind” for the Sydney Theatre Company. In early 2008, Csokas starred as Antony in Shakespeare’s “Antony and Cleopatra” off-Broadway, and appeared with Company B in “The Pillowman.”
