Perfect Strangers (2016)

English A finely crafted and perhaps even better punctuated, brisk conversational drama with elements of intelligent humor, which sufficiently reaffirmed to me that I'm doing really well by not wasting my life with a phone in hand. I applaud the script and all the actors and actresses involved. (85%)

Moneyball (2011)

English I like sports-themed films, even if I don't really understand the sport they deal with. Moneyball attracts audiences with a stellar cast and a quite interesting theme inspired by the real-life story of baseball player and manager Billy Beane. Despite the undeniable qualities of the film, I have to admit that I found myself looking at my watch quite often, wondering when it would be over. Maybe it would be different with a shorter runtime, but I'm not sure. Even Brad Pitt didn't impress me with his acting. (65%)

Lousy Bastards (2014)

English The cast is really stellar, but that's where the list of positives ends. I haven't seen a more blatant piece of crap in a long time. Now I know at least to steer clear of the name of this screenwriter and director when choosing films in the future. (25%)

Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande - Rain On Me (2020) (music video)

English Lady Gaga is close to me in many ways, but she could have spared herself this gimmicky music video. It's hard to say how much of it is due to Ariana Grande, whose stardom I somehow don't buy. Not to mention the fact that the song itself is also crappy...

American Horror Story - Cult (2017) (season)

English Some of the bloody scenes left me quite disgusted, but otherwise, I must admit that within its genre, it is a relatively high-quality piece of work that appealed to me, especially in terms of the screenplay. It should also be noted that Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters are unwaveringly propelling Cult to greater heights with their performances. After the flop Roanoke, things are looking up again. (70%)

Little Crusader (2017)

English I am thrilled that such a treasure as Václav Kadrnka and his film Little Crusader can emerge in contemporary Czech cinema. It evokes to me the magnificent films of František Vláčil, which is also a way of expressing my conviction that in black and white this work would be almost perfect. (80%)

It's Only the End of the World (2016)

English With this conversational film, I once again reminded myself after a long time how Xavier Dolan's work can get under my skin. It is a powerful family drama about old wrongs and the inability to listen to each other, about the sadness deep inside each of us... Brilliantly shot, perhaps even better acted, and all framed by just the right amount of evocative music. The final image, accompanied by Moby's hit song, is a bitter conclusion to everything left unspoken, simmering beneath the surface the whole time. (85%)

Ellie Goulding - Power (2020) (music video)

English Ellie Goulding's current work is not my cup of coffee, but this song is still okay. However, I would have refrained from this tasteless music video if I were in her place. (40%)

Fifty Shades of Grey (2015)

English I waited a few years before I decided to see Fifty Shades of Grey, and I can't help but mention that I absolutely do not understand the general criticism that accompanies the film. It's not anything groundbreaking, but I wouldn't say I'm collapsing from how stupid it is, definitely not. In addition, I have absolutely no complaints about the music, the soundtrack is really good. Otherwise, it is basically a romantic story underlined by rather tasteful eroticism dealing with a love relationship that is doomed to an early demise. I admit that Jamie Dornan was a big attraction for me, mainly because of his great performance in the series The Fall. Here, I'm not disappointed with his portrayal of Christian Grey, he's even typecast for the role, but he's just not my favorite serial killer. (65%)
