Fear Street Part 2: 1978 (2021)

English Although it’s a bit a exaggerated, which actually does the same thing several times as the first film, but it presents it to the viewer as a novelty. It’s still great, bloody and exciting entertainment, though. Instead of Scream, it (more than) nods to Friday the 13th, the characters are fine, the director is good.... I'm really looking forward to the end of this trilogy.

Black Widow (2021)

English I'm sorry to say it, but this is the most useless Marvel movie for me so far. I don't feel like it contributed at all to the MCU - it was created simply because the fans wanted a Black Widow solo film (and to find out what was in Budapest so that there would be peace) and Scarlett Johansson after Endgame probably didn't mind either. It's such a wasted chance, the film stays in its lane from start to finish, and although the action scenes are pleasantly and deliberately exaggerated (it's no coincidence that Natasha is watching Moonraker) and the main characters and heroes seem even more indestructible than Jason Bourne or any Terminator, which makes sense when I couldn't form any relationship with most of the characters during that fast ride, and in the end I didn't care what happened to anyone. Unfortunately, this also applies to Taskmaster, who is suddenly just there, and according to the creators we should be afraid of him, but we can't be, because it is clear to us that this is not the type of film in which the villain could win or at least come to a draw. There are jokes in Whedon’s style, and you can forget about any tension. If Black Widow can bring anything to the MCU in the future, then perhaps only the return of Florence Pugh and David Harbour. They would both make me happy. But there was no need to tell this Black Widow story.

Minuscule: Mandibles from Far Away (2018)

English Compared to the previous film, this one seemed somehow emptier and at the same time unnecessarily complicated with various subplots, but despite the multiple Pixar rip-offs, it was still beautiful with many disarming moments.

The Huntsman: Winter's War (2016)

English Basically the same fantasy average that wants to be above average, just like last time. Even having Emily Blunt, Jessica Chastain and Charlize Theron in one film does not mean that it will be a good film. Not that I was offended by The Huntsman, but somehow I was still waiting for something really big to happen... And then came the end of the story. I was really pleased with the way in which the filmmakers (did not) bring the character of Snow White to the film, because this confirmed that Jára Cimrman and his Hamlet without Hamlet was once again ahead of its time.

The Bronze (2015)

English A laid-back film that almost manages to walk the line between parody and serious satire aimed at the sports business. It succeeds mainly thanks to Melissa Rauch, who is simply excellent as a spoiled ex-gymnast.

Sweet Tooth (2021) (series)

English A beautiful post-apocalyptic fairy tale. It does not deny the author of the original with elaborate characters, because that is exactly what Jeff Lemire focuses on, and he rewards the viewer with each episode with another piece of the "what, why, who and how" puzzle. Unexpected things often happen, often exciting and especially in the final parts also genuinely touching and one hundred percent impressive. I hope, I hope, I hope that Sweet Tooth gets the second season. And that a book will be published in the Czech Republic soon.

Fear Street Part 1: 1994 (2021)

English A slasher in the classic style, that quotes (above all) Scream and similar films in a big way, does it in a beautiful coat and at the same time with exaggeration and surprisingly (for me), brutally... It is also fun, thanks to the actors and their great characters, who behave as logically as the genre allows. There is something missing from it to achieve perfection, which we will probably see next time or later, but I am still very satisfied.

Monster Hunter (2020)

English Despite Ron Perlman's hairstyle and Paul W.S. Anderson's reputation, it’s not bad! I believed in Milla Jovovich more than when she is among zombies, the action scenes were great, I have nothing to complain about in terms of the special effects, and I was pleasantly surprised by the number of monsters. The biggest weakness of the film, however, is that it was obviously created mainly so that another part could be made, because a lot of things would remain unresolved, and although I enjoyed the desert-like, literally horrible stay, in the end I just had to ask: What was it all for? I wouldn't think I'd write this after a Resident Evil mess, but this time I will - I'd quite like Anderson to make a sequel.

The Fate of the Furious (2017)

English But... ummm... Why not. It's soulless, but it's fun, although more than Vin Diesel and his family (put aside five crowns every time that word comes up and you have enough for a movie ticket) benefits from Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham (I understand why they earned their own film), from Charlize Theron, and especially from the sympathetically excessive action, in which cars behave like wild animals and you wait for them to turn into Transformers, and when a submarine joins the final chase, it's actually not inappropriate at all.

Ammonite (2020)

English The story may be a bit of a cliché, but the two great actresses and a director with a flair for such beautiful melancholy made it an enjoyable experience. The fact that the whole thing is supposedly pulled out of thin air will of course bother some people, but it can be ignored quite easily.
