IT Crowd - Calendar Geeks (2008) (episode)

English Until this episode, I actually enjoyed Jen and found her likable, flaws and all – maybe even because of them. However, in this latest season, she didn't quite win me over when she joined the now majority of hypocritical moralists. Despite some issues in this episode, I loved how Roy's selflessness and Moss's vacation provided some great entertainment too. / Lesson learned: Don't be a cockblock.

IT Crowd - Friendface (2008) (episode)

English I feel the same way about Facebook and all those other social evils as I do about various churches and sects, so this episode had me entertained from the get-go right up to its well-crafted ending. The party with "friends" from Friendface was a blast, and I'm genuinely relieved I wasn't there. I would have to pretend I have a wife and at least two genius kids and I don't feel like doing that. / Lesson learned: If you're meeting up with friends, make sure you've got your mobile phone or tablet handy to have someone to talk to.

IT Crowd - The Speech (2008) (episode)

English This episode is hands down one of my favorites. Douglas' romance with the Iranian reporter was hilarious but the guys in the basement managed to top that. The prank they pulled on Jen and her enthusiastic speech about the Internet was the real highlight of the episode. / Lesson learned: Even with the world heading towards destruction, try not to panic.

Mad Men - Season 7 (2014) (season)

English Season seven is over and I feel a lingering sadness. The story has ended and I had to say goodbye to the characters from a brilliantly crafted show with a retro vibe. It goes to show that the creators have done an impressive job, considering how much I hate advertising. They got me hooked right from the pilot episode until the very end. The seventh season only confirmed my satisfaction, and the finale was the cherry on top. / Lesson learned: Change is the best antidote to stagnation.

Mad Men - Person to Person (2015) (episode)

English What an awesome way to wrap up a great series. It's almost hard to believe that it's an American show. There were plenty of opportunities for the series to end with an overwhelming wave of melodrama, as is usually the case, but the Mad Men team took a different approach. Thankfully! Instead, we got a thoughtfully crafted conclusion with intriguingly wrapped-up or open-ended storylines. Instead of banging my head against the wall in frustration, I could just sit back and enjoy it. / Lesson learned: Enlightenment often comes from the most unexpected places.

Paul (2011)

English Despite the clichés and a hint of sentimentality in the ending, I found myself enjoying the film. Simon Pegg's style gets me every time – flaws and all, the guy can make me laugh. Nick Frost has the same effect on me. Plus, there's something delightful about someone expressing a blind (or semi-blind) faith in a higher power. I could almost hear the sound of fanatical Christians grinding their teeth. Overall, this film managed to lift my mood and I haven't even mentioned the joy of having Kristen Wiig in the mix. / Lesson learned: Choose the location for your final speech very, very carefully.

Peter's Friends (1992)

English An interesting group of friends, along with some partners, gather at Peter's estate for New Year's Eve. It's the kind of gathering that every psychiatrist dreams about; they could build a clientele to last them until retirement. The movie boasted some stellar performances, even though the plot wasn't as good. However, the dialogue and the good old English humor kept that fourth star shining. Beyond the cast and the positives mentioned earlier, I was captivated by the fictional dresser, the exhausted Brian constantly delivering exhausting humor, and the opening cabaret number that would leave the current champions of gender equality from the European Union and the United Kingdom in awe. Peter's friends remained my friends even on a rewatch, and catching up with them again brought me joy. / Lesson learned: Watch out for giant snowmen. They like to strike back.

IT Crowd - Tramps Like Us (2008) (episode)

English Not gonna lie, the third episode did have its weaker moments – they were there, and I'm not oblivious to them. But I just didn't care because I was too busy enjoying the antics of Jen, Moss, and Douglas Reynholm. However, this time around, it was Roy who stole the spotlight. And no, I'm not talking about his unintentional office exhibitionism, but rather his two-hour street suffering that felt like it lasted for years. / Lesson learned: Want to help save a life? Go with your gut, but brace yourself for the consequences.

IT Crowd - Are We Not Men? (2008) (episode)

English While the first episode of this season left me a bit disappointed, the second one totally won me over. Admittedly, I'll never be a man enough to discuss yesterday's Premier League events with a genuine Cockney accent (East End speak isn't my forte, and my interest waned when legends like Ruud van Nistelrooy left while prima donnas like Cristiano Ronaldo and Arjen Robben emerged). Losing two hundred pounds in a poker night isn't my style, and heists aren't my thing either. But I thoroughly enjoyed watching Moss and Roy navigate through all of that, and the talentless magician was just the icing on the cake. / Lesson learned: You can bluff your way through almost anything – there are even manuals for that.

IT Crowd - From Hell (2008) (episode)

English Okay, the kick-off to the fourth season didn't exactly have me in stitches, despite Douglas Reynholm giving it his all. The thing was, I just couldn't get into the whole storyline with the builder, and Roy's banknotes didn't grab my attention (especially when they were just out of reach). The only one who managed to keep me entertained this time around, besides Douglas, was Moss and his run-in with bullying. / Lesson learned: Don't offend manual workers! You'll regret it!
