Bland, tedious (150 minutes!!!!), uninteresting and... boring? The attempt to reclaim the once iconic explorer films is a failure, and I'm sorry, but it takes balls to cast an 81-year-old dude in an action chase, and the result was exactly what I expected. I didn't enjoy the artificial rejuvenation of the Indy of the past here, or the constant chase from A to B, it’s not engaging and it becomes too blatantly obvious that Harrison Ford can't even run at this age, let alone do any stunts, so he has to be complemented by a striking CGI mess. I didn’t like the mediocre villain, the unlikeable supporting character played by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and I didn’t enjoy pretty much anything here. And the humour is missing completely. An utterly average film for the casual viewer, and a misery for someone expecting at least some degree of quality. Squeezing money out of an over-aged acting star and the name of a great original film franchise. This is how you fuck up the name and reputation of Indiana Jones in his old years, hats off.

A brilliant piece of work! The form is simply excellent - talking food in the supermarket, eager to get into the dream "beyond" of the store, only they have no idea what people at home are actually doing with them. The idea is downright unique and original, the execution even better (food talk, racist innuendo, German SS sauces, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict between tortilla and bagel, a party in the liquor aisle, and much more!) and you can smell the Franco - Hill - Rogen squadron from a mile away, and I have to say, I haven't seen a cringier film in a long time. It's entertainingly morbid (the warzone when the flour falls off the cart, the killing of the food on the kitchen counter), engaging enough, the characters are done really well and you can tell that someone thought long and hard here to hone each "raw material" to perfection in terms of their visual execution and their morbid deaths. Unexpectedly, the film also has a villain, at least some plot and a final conclusion. Well I couldn't be more pleased and this adult fairy tale full of violence, sarcasm and eroticism brought me to my knees. And the final all-you-can-eat orgy is just the icing on the cake and is the absolutely perfect highlight to top off the whole film.

Following the model of the first one, the second part is also a crazy and twisted ride that one would not have thought of. The same holiday, the same two couples and a bunch of unbelievable situations spiced up with two new characters that definitely brought with them an extra dose of humour. One perverted situation follows another, one wisecrack after another and again and again the great John Cena as a complete jerk together with Lil Rel Howery as a good guy (the dude reminds me of Kevin Hart with his girly scream!!:D) complement each other perfectly and in the field of less than two hours I was not bored for a moment. I enjoy this type of comedies, Cena is a good fit for them and I'd watch this one again in a heartbeat! This franchise is simply a gem and I sincerely hope it continues on, as such quirky and funny stuff is drastically lacking in comedies these days.
