Superfast and Superfurious! (2015)

English Parody is a genre that has more or less become extinct, and this is one of the last representatives, it parodies The Fast and The Furious franchise, and although it's a bit cheesy, it has a few decent jokes. The best is the actor playing The Rock, who is absolutely perfect whenever he's on screen. I wasn't bored, so I think the film deserves those three stars within the genre. 5/10.

Monsters (2015)

English An excellent atmospheric short film that can literally blow your mind three times in a row within its fifteen minutes. The story focuses on a family living in a bunker, hiding from monsters outside, and a little girl who is the only one who doesn’t go outside. When she has the opportunity to leave the bunker and discover the truth, she takes it. Nicely shot, thrilling, clever, atmospheric, well-acted, and it really play with the viewer's mind. It's not an action movie, it's more of a story-driven film, but still very good. 8/10.

Killing God (2017)

English A black comedy from Spain with a horror atmosphere. During the holidays, a mysterious dwarf visits a family of four, claiming to be God, and informs them that tomorrow morning the entire human race will die, except for two survivors chosen by the family themselves. The film primarily benefits from its original idea and the decent dialogues filled with black humor, they can be quite amusing at times. The mysterious atmosphere also works, as you ponder along with the main characters whether God is really who he claims to be, and the ending pleasantly surprises with a bit of brutality. It could have been more brutal and intense, but it's definitely an interesting, unconventional, and original piece that deserves attention. Alien: Specimen (2019)

English A solid ten-minute short with an Alien atmosphere! Great visuals, unsettling atmosphere, three solid jump-scares, and quite a rough ending. I like stuff like this! 8/10.

Babae at Baril (2019)

English When I see a rating of 7.0 for an action movie from the Philippines, I definitely pay attention, but this one didn't entertain me. I can forgive the slightly cheaper look, but I didn't expect the only action scene to be two gunshots. Fortunately, the film is only 80 minutes long and tries to have two storylines, with the first being quite decent (soft rape and revenge), but the second one is not worth mentioning. Although it eventually comes together somehow, I was glad it ended. Story***, Action*, Humor>No, Violence*, Entertainment**, Music***, Visuals**, Atmosphere**, Tension**. 4/10.

30 Coins (2020) (series)

English My favorite director Alex de La Iglesia didn't really please me with his new work. After the first episode, I was hyped and expected the smash of the year, but unfortunately, the storyline went in a direction that didn't interest me much. It must be acknowledged that the series has some excellent things (the opening theme is absolutely fantastic), the religiously soaked atmosphere has something to it, and when it comes to monsters, there is definitely something to watch, but the fact that they show up only in two episodes is a disappointment for me. The most interesting character is the Priest. In the opening episodes we see him boxing into a punching bag, but that more or less it doesn't lead to anything, because from the second half onwards he is constantly traveling somewhere and is mostly locked up, so his potential is not utilized. The veterinarian Elena also stands out, she is quite enjoyable, but the rest of the characters didn't really grow on me and I was rather indifferent to their fate. If the storyline had focused on hunting the coins in interesting locations all over the world, I think 30 Coins could have been much more interesting, but in its current state, it loses its breath from the second half and rather than being a horror series, it resembles a historical fantasy drama that unfortunately bores rather than entertains. I don't regret watching it, but there were only few good moments that wouldn't even even be enough for one episode. Storyline****, Action>No, Humor>No, Violence***, Entertainment***, Music***, Visuals****, Atmosphere****, Tension***. 6.5/10.

Kubo and the Two Strings (2016)

English A visually beautiful animated fairytale from Japanese culture. The story is fine, the bosses are quite cool, the samurai beetle is very funny, and overall it looks very nice. In the end, they surprise with a plot twist, but at the same time, it ends very sadly. But for its originality, I give it weaker four stars. 7/10.

Aku Tahu Kapan Kamu Mati (2020)

English With Indonesian horror movies, it's like playing the lottery, you rarely come across a jackpot, mostly just an average stuff. Unfortunately, this is a case of bottom-of-the-barrel horror that is not even worth mentioning. The white make-up of the Ghost looks like it was done by a high school student, they forget to turn on the music during a supposedly scary scene, and the whole thing is quite loud and overacted. The only good thing is the truly beautiful main character, but that's woefully far from enough. I do not recommend it and the rating of 3.3 on IMDB is appropriate. Story*, Action>No, Humor>No, Violence*, Entertainment*, Music**, Visual**, Atmosphere**, Tension*. 2/10.

Crazy Samurai Musashi (2020)

English Four years ago Yûji Shimomura surprised with a decent action movie set in the woods called Re:born, so I was curious about Crazy Samurai: 400 vs. 1 , but it's such a dull and unexciting borefest that I can't believe it. The film has no plot, no dialogue, and it's basically a 90-minute long action sequence, which under normal circumstances I would welcome with open arms, but this style just doesn't work for me at all. The main hero is alone against 400 samurais and most of the time it looks like he's in the middle of a circle and they come at him one by one. I understand that they wanted to stay true to reality, but what is realistic is boring, that's what movies are for. He only uses two moves, either cuts their heads off or slashes their bellies, and watching this for an hour and a half was really painful. Moreover, it seemed to me that no one died, everyone who got slashed crawled away from the camera, and that felt very awkward, plus occasionally there is disgustingly digital blood splattering, and when I add that it all looks cheap, I really don't know what I'm supposed to like here. The final five minutes are a okay, they feel like they're from a different movie, and it's a shame that Tak Sakaguchi, who showed unprecedented speed and talent in Re:born, here swings his katana so slowly as if he didn't even enjoy it. I didn't like it and I don't see much reason for anyone to like this movie. Story*, Action**, Humor>No, Violence*, Entertainment**, Music***, Visuals**, Atmosphere*, Tension*. 2/10.

Run Hide Fight (2020)

English The 81% on IMDB is either paid or they have a bug in the database, because this was really bad and this time I agree with the 14% given by critics. Run Hide Fight was supposed to be some variation of Die Hard, but it's more of a parody than a tribute and most of the time I felt embarrassed. Teenage terrorists (really!) attack a school and livestream the whole show. The first stumbling block is that there are only four of them, so you can forget about any action scenes except for the first intrusion, there is nothing at all. The female lead is likable, but that's about it. The villains overact to the point of pain, there is no respect for them, they don't have any interesting plan and the whole movie is just running around the school, without anything interesting really happening. It's not action-packed, it's not suspenseful, it's not entertaining, it's not even brutal, and above all, it's two hours long, so most of the time you just wish for it to end. Thumbs down from me and a movie for kids. Story**, Action**, Humor>No, Violence**, Enjoyment**, Music***, Visuals***, Atmosphere**, Tension**. 3/10.
