Miss Nymphet's Zap-In (1970)

English Miss Nymphet's Zap-In is one of the highlights of Herschell's career due to its bizarreness, especially since he didn't make many more films after that. But it was in the early 70s that he made his biggest hits, which I think this film belongs to. Silly erotic tales that might be better suited as one-panel jokes, yet they can amuse with their sheer absurdity.

Hello, Dolly! (1969)

English I simply don't find Barbra Streisand to be such a great actress; she often annoys me in most movies. This is also the case in Hello, Dolly!, where there are other elements that managed to captivate me, including great choreography, and great direction by Gene Kelly. However, the storyline wasn't as compelling to me.

Heaven (2002)

English Tom Tykwer has a knack for capturing intriguing human destinies, particularly from a human perspective. This film isn't an overly exaggerated action drama, although it could have been if produced in America. But it’s emphasis on the human experience makes it more engaging and emotionally resonant.

Hamlet Goes Business (1987)

English A different take on Hamlet. While the film isn't lacking in ideas, one might question the necessity of connecting it with Shakespeare and his renowned theatrical play. Perhaps it could have stood alone as a film without reference to the tragic character, which might have worked even better for me. x

Born Yesterday (1993)

English It's moderately entertaining, featuring decent characters portrayed by excellent actors, especially John Goodman, a personal favorite. However, it remains just a remake. The 1950 version is much funnier, largely due to Judy Holliday's captivating performance. Melanie Griffith, in contrast, didn't quite appeal to me in this role.

Heathers (1988)

English An interesting blend of thriller and teen comedy that hinges on the fact that there are popular and unpopular students, and that the unpopular ones may decide to make short work of the latter. All it takes is the right impulse, this time in the form of a handsome young man who is not right in the head. There's just the right amount of exaggeration, and that's how the film works.

Hamlet (2009) (TV movie)

English If you think that Shakespearean plays modernized into contemporary settings cannot work, then Hamlet from 2009 will convince you that it can. Patrick Stewart is perfectly suited for the role of Claudius, while David Tennant convinces us that he can handle Hamlet. It’s a bit too long, but it's bearable.

Bitter Harvest (2017)

English How to make a film about Ukrainian history, turn it into a pseudo-Hollywood spectacle, aim to create something grandiosely sensationalized, and yet forget that it's a film set in Ukraine, not America. It didn't sit well with me at all; the young actors are trying, but they don't quite pull it off, while the older stalwarts have no room to shine. No, this attempt at a big historical movie didn't work.

Born Yesterday (1950)

English Judy Holliday is truly captivating in this film, and one can only marvel at how beautifully she portrays that dumb blonde character. Therefore, she is entertaining, doesn't bore us, and doesn't bore the rest of the ensemble either, which really came together very well, although Broderick Crawford may be too much of a caricature of his character, by which he perhaps unnecessarily stood out too much.

Akira Kurosawa's Dreams (1990)

English Even though there are images here that are truly beautiful, images that show that Akira Kurosawa delved even deeper into lyricism towards the end of his career, it's rather his more narrative-driven films that appeal to me and that I truly enjoy. From this, I had the feeling that it was more of a very well-executed artistic exercise.
