A solid love story where secretary Sidney falls hopelessly in love with an older man, Marshall, a playwright who employs her but avoids her affection. Marshall is superlative as the sensitive employer, overshadowing Sidney's sometimes histrionic performance. Reed is convincing as the athletic college boy and Ernest Cossart, as the stuffy butler, provides ample laughs. (Remade as BUT NOT FOR ME and MR. MUSIC.) (official distributor synopsis)
